Timor-Leste is one of the world's youngest countries gaining sovereignty in 2002. Its economy faces enormous upheaval as its oil reserves start to run dry. In its place, coffee is set to become the nation's most vital export.

Our partner, Raw Material focuses its coffee sourcing and production in the Ermera region where almost 60% of the municipality's population live below the poverty line. Coffee is the second-highest earner for the country after oil, with 37% of households depending on coffee for income.

We have been sourcing coffees from Timor-Leste since 2020. This washed process coffee has been sourced from the suco (village) of Parami at an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level. Cherry from Parami is collected daily and processed at the Raimutin wet mill.

In the cup this washed process coffee has notes of dried peach, orange zest and nutmeg.
