Our Introduction to Roasting course is designed to give professional baristas, home roasters and coffee enthusiasts a basic understanding of coffee roasting through a practical and hands on workshop.

  • The difference between convection and conduction heat and how they are used in the roasting process
  • Understanding the roast progression and learning the correct terminology
  • How to write a roast plan and stick to it
  • How to utilise cupping to assess different roast attributes
  • How to identify roast defects
