Caramel, blackberry, baking spice, hazelnut. Coating mouthfeel and ripe mandarin acidity.
Our second release for the year introduces Nicaragua La Estrella, one of the only coffees from Nicaragua we’ve bought in recent years. We’ve paired this with a delicious, sweet coffee from Brazil and the bright, juicy Rwanda Nyakarenko.
1,000 - 1,300m
Hand-picked, meticulously processed and located in one of Brazil’s highest quality growing regions - you can be pretty confident this is a delicious coffee. Owner Antonio Jose Junqueira is a previous Cup of Excellence 2nd place getter and is constantly targeting high quality coffees at São Benedito. This coffee gives the blend it’s sweet, creamy base.
Bourbon & Typica
1,700 - 1,900m
One of our favourite coffees on our microlot schedule at the moment, this coffee brings juicy fruits and a balanced acidity to the blend.
Caturra, Catuaí & Bourbon
1,150 - 1,700m
Located close to the border of Honduras in the Nueva Segovia department, and part of the Cordillera de Dipilito Natural Reserve, the area has a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. The La Estrella mill was opened in 2013 by Caravela to provide producers with a new market for their coffee. This lot comes from small producers living close to the mill and provides the blend with notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate.
