Volcanic soil, high altitude and rainfall, as well as a dry harvest season create perfect growing conditions for Burundi. This lot is from the Gitwenge washing station located in the town of Gatara, in the Kayanza Province.

Due to the tiny size and yield of an average coffee farm in Burundi, washing stations become hubs for the purchase of coffee cherries from surrounding growers. The lots are then processed together before being cupped and separated based on taste profile and quality.
