Sydney Royal Fine Food Show Summer Edition 2015

Veneziano Coffee Roasters collected a further four medals from the Sydney Royal Coffee Competition, part of the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show, over the weekend, adding to a long line of roaster awards

Now in its 17th year, the coffee competition is held in February every year as part of the Summer Fine Food Show. Veneziano has entered almost every year since 2004.

Veneziano’s First Nitro Coffee Installations

Veneziano Coffee Roasters has provided the first installations of its latest innovation, Nitro Coffee; five Australian cafes will offer this product once trading resumes in the New Year.

Veneziano Coffee Roasters is excited to announce the installation of Nitro Coffee, its newest cold brew offer of nitrogenated coffee on tap, at the premises of its first client cafes in Australia. Ready to serve up Nitro Coffee from tap when they reopen in January 2015, will be:

Golden Bean Roaster Competition 2014

Veneziano Coffee Roasters achieved five medals in four categories at the weekend’s Compak Golden Bean Roaster Competition in Port Macquarie, in the highest number of entries seen to date.

The microlot coffees submitted by Veneziano successfully achieved awards in the Filter Chemex and Single Origin categories, whilst its traditional blends were recognised in the Espresso and Organic Espresso categories, in a competition where every coffee entered is judged by industry peers.

In addition, Veneziano received recognition for a further seven awards for its contract roasting, for various blends commissioned by its customers in the categories of Coffee Chain Espresso and Coffee Chain Milk Based Coffee and gold medal recognition for its beans used in the Home Roaster category.

The SCAA roasters guild retreat was recently held in Portland USA. During the retreat a Roasting Challenge was held where over 200 participating roasters were split up into teams of 10.

Each team had to develop a cold brew concoction from 5 available origins. They then had to cup each origin and choose which origins to roast and blend. The teams had a range of roasting equipment available to them including Proaster, Has Garanti, Probat, Diedrich, San Franciscan and Giesen.

Pat Connolly, of Veneziano Coffee, was part of the winning team that claimed this coveted Roasting Challenge Trophy. Pat’s team chose to work with the Diedrich roaster as they believed it would provide

Golden Bean Roaster Competition Awards 2013

Team Veneziano are thrilled about their awards at this year’s Golden Bean Roaster Competition Awards. In 2013 they were awarded the following, taking the total number of Golden Bean Awards to more than 20 since its inception in 2006 by Cafe Culture magazine:

-Silver medal: Milk Based (Latte) category (Bond St)
-Bronze medal: Filter Coffee category

Veneziano @ Melbourne International Coffee Festival

Participate in daily cupping demonstrations on our stand (no. 72) at 11am and 2pm and watch our baristas compete in the national competitions.

Representing Veneziano in the barista championship from South Australia is Mike Wells; from Queensland Jean-Paul Sutton will also compete for the barista championship whilst Adrian Zwicker will take on the latte art crown alongside Victoria’s Jen Marks. Craig Simon, also from Victoria, will be going for the cupping title as well Australia’s champion barista.

Australasian Specialty Coffee Assocation national competition results

The team at Veneziano Coffee is pleased with our results at the hotly contested AASCA competitions, and with the Veneziano connection to all of the categories, on the weekend of January 29 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Jean-Paul Sutton (First Pour Veneziano, Brisbane) placed third in the National Barista Championship.

Veneziano Coffee Roasters also placed third in the National Roasting Competition
