What you will need
- A bag or two of the limited edition Melbourne Blend
- Fresh cold milk or your choice of alternate milk
- Freshly prepared espresso shots
- Espresso machine
Steps
- Melbourne Blend is our limited edition love letter to Melbourne. Think rich chocolate, caramel and cherry. Roasted for both espresso and filter, it's a versatile blend that works beautifully as a milky coffee or a black.
- We recommend setting your machine's brew temp to around 94 degrees.
- In our cafes we use 22 grams of coffee to brew a 36 gram double espresso in 27 seconds.
- At home you may not be able to fit 22 grams of coffee in your basket so we use a 1:1.6 ratio to work out the recipe.
- For example if your basket can only fit 16 grams of coffee then the yield would be 25 grams in the same amount of brew time.
- If you are making a black coffee we recommend reducing the dose by 1 gram and increasing the yield by a couple of grams. This will give you a more balanced, less intense cup of coffee.
More Tips
- If your coffee is tasting a little sour and could use a bit of sweetness we recommend grinding finer. This slows the flow of water and increases the brew time by a couple of seconds.
- If your coffee is tasting bitter then grind coarser. This speeds up the flow of water and shortens the brew time.
