How to make a Cherry Mont Blanc

The Cherry Mont Blanc is a seasonal stunner you have been seeing at our flagship cafes. Rich cold brew made with the limited edition Melbourne Blend meets cherry blossom and is finished with a freeze-dried cherry garnish. Follow our recipe to make this at home.

What you will need

Ingredients

  • Melbourne Blend (coarsely ground for cold brew)
  • Cream
  • Monin Cherry Blossom Syrup
  • Ice
  • Freeze-dried cherries (for garnish)

Equipment

  • French press or vessel for making cold brew
  • Cocktail shaker
  • A cold glass
  • Sealable vessel for storage

Method

Step 1 - Pre-batch your cold brew

  • Combine 1 part coarsely ground coffee with 10 parts of cold water in your french press or preferred brewing vessel
  • Let it steep for 12-24 hours at room temperature or in the fridge and then strain
  • Once strained, mix together your cold brew base consisting of:
    • 80g cold brewed Melbourne Blend
    • 16g Monin Cherry Blossom Syrup
  • Combine and store in the fridge until ready to use.

Step 2 - Make the cherry cream

  • Add the following items to a cocktail shaker:
    • 50g cream
    • 10g Monin Cherry Blossom Syrup
    • A few ice cubes
  • Shake for around 10 seconds, then strain into a sealable vessel.
  • Seal and store in the fridge until you are ready to assemble.

Step 3 - Put your creation together

  • Fill your glass with ice
  • Pour in your cold brew mixture until the glass is about 90% full
  • Give your cream mixture a quick shake
  • Pour the cream gently over the back of a spoon so it floats on top
  • Finish with a freeze-dried cherry garnish

The result will be a layered, delicious, cafe worthy Cherry Mont Blanc.
