It's a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire team in delivering another strong year of environmental performance across the group.

Our Journey with Climate Active

Since joining the Climate Active program in 2022 our goal has remained clear. To continue to reduce our impact on the planet while ensuring we deliver exceptional coffee to our customers. This year we saw major improvements in our operational efficiency resulting in significant reductions in our environmental footprint.

Driving Down Emissions

Our focus on energy usage across all aspects of our business has delivered measurable results.

Gas Usage Intensity Slashed

By focusing on energy efficiency initiatives in our roasting process, we have been able to reduce our gas usage intensity by a phenomenal 27%. We now use just 4.49 MJ of gas per kilogram roasted.

Overall Carbon Emissions Plunge

We have seen a dramatic reduction in our overall carbon emissions from 1.25 kg to just 0.51 kg of CO2 emissions per kilogram of coffee. This is a nearly 60% reduction in our emissions intensity. 

This progress shows that a focus on sustainability and a commitment to quality can and must go hand in hand.

Looking Forward

Recertification has helped reinforce that we are on the right path but it's not the finish line. We're already exploring the next phase of emission reduction initiatives and remain committed to leading the specialty coffee industry in sustainability practices.
